Three (More!) Things About Me:

  1. I have an oral allergy to bananas. If I eat one my mouth gets extremely itchy, it’s really awful. I have the same issue with blackberries. But I can eat banana bread/banana muffins without issue!
  2. I’m naturally blonde but I’ve dyed my hair brown for almost a decade. Once in a while, I dye it blonde again and then end up going back to brown within a couple months.
  3. In 2016 I lived in 6 different flats/houses in 4 different cities in 2 different countries.

Danielle’s Questions:

  1. If you’re comfortable saying, how old are you?
    • I’m 28, dangerously close to 30. (“Thirty, flirty, and thriving” — for anyone else obsessed with Thirteen Going on Thirty.)
  2. What’s your favourite YouTube show and why?
    • I admit I don’t watch a lot of shows on YouTube but I do watch Dan and Phil on occasion.
  3. What is your spirit animal and why?
    • My rabbit because, like me, he loves to sleep and eat.
  4. How has your 2018 been so far? Personally and professionally.
    • This year has been really good so far! I have a new job, a lovely flat, and a wonderful boyfriend so I can’t complain!
  5. What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever had?
    • I had a friend offer me chocolate covered ants when I was younger. They weren’t that bad, actually. I ate a full squid when I was in Rome and it was delicious. I absolutely love calamari. I’ll try absolutely anything once, but I’m dreading the day someone offers me something really strange… like cow tongue.

Here’s a photo of my squid dinner in Rome in 2015! Yum yum yum.

My Nominations:

Please take a moment to visit the nominees! They run some really fabulous blogs. I’ve tried to nominate a new batch of bloggers from the last award, but please also check out the wonderful blogs I nominated for The One Lovely Blog Award as well!

My Five Questions for the Nominees:

Feel free to skip any of these questions if you aren’t comfortable answering!

  1. What was/is your favourite and least favourite subject in school?
  2. Do you speak more than one language?
  3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
  4. What’s your current phone wallpaper?
  5. And for my ‘weird’ question, if you could only eat one specific food for the rest of your life (i.e. french fries, popsicles, etc.) what would it be?

A Link to My Best Post:

This is tricky because I haven’t been blogging very long, but the post I had the most fun writing was one of my Top 5 Wednesday posts on Books I Didn’t Get to in 2017. It was fun looking back at some books I’ve been dying to read so that I can get excited about reading them all over again!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I’ll be posting a new list of books that I’m going to remove (or keep!) from my Goodreads ‘to-read’ list in a new Down the TBR Hole tomorrow!

It’s funny becuase they actually tasted kind of good. They had the consistency of what I assume a chocolate covered popcorn kernel would taste like, just not as crunchy. Very strange!

    • Ashley says:

I love them as well! Especially banana bread. Nothing beats fresh banana bread out of the oven!

That’s fine! I’ll go check out your answers! 🙂

  1. Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight says:

That sucks about the allergy. But oh wow, that’s a lot of moving for one year! Glad your year has been going well. I ate a chocolate covered meal worm once as a kid! I couldn’t do that now lol. And I tried escargot once but didn’t like it *bleh*

Thanks for nominating me! It takes me a while to get to these sorts of things though, if I remember at all lol, but I like your questions!

    • Ashley says:

Oh wow, chocolate covered meal worms, that must have been REALLY strange. If I ever try that I hope I have no idea what I’m eating until after I’ve already swallowed haha. Escargot has been on my list of things to try forever. It looks so gross but I have a weird urge to know exactly what it tastes like. I can’t imagine its very good! At leat you can say you tried it!

And no worries! Just passing on the love! 🙂

  2. Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks says:

I wish I was blonde! Maybe we can trade xD

My least favorite subject in school was physical education 😀 I was always a bookworm, so sports was never my strong suit, sadly. And yeah… there was a time when I spoke 7 languages! But keeping them all in my head takes practice, so now you could just say I have a background in 7 languages. And oh my god, I don’t think I could just eat one food xD

Thank you for the tag 🙂

    • Ashley says:

Sorry for the delayed reply, I’ve been super busy and away from my laptop!

Let’s definitely trade, it’s going to take forever to grow my blonde back out and I’m way too scared of cutting it super short to speed the process up!

I also really disliked physical education in school, but at the same time I played soccer all through high school, just in a league not affiliated with the school. Something about school gym classes was the worst. Seven languages! That’s amazing. It would be super tricky to remember them all. And I don’t think I could pick one food either, I get sick of things too quickly!!

Thanks for answering, and I’m sorry again for replying so late! <3

  3. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews says:

Thank you Ashley! I was also nominated by Taiwo last week… so I had my post go up yesterday. Sorry! I didn’t see yours until I had already prepared my other post.
If I decide to do it again, I’ll link to yours, but it probably won’t be straight away.
Here are my answers to your questions, just in case I won’t get around to doing another mystery blogger post:
What was/is your favourite and least favourite subject in school?
Do you speak more than one language?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
    What’s your current phone wallpaper?
And for my ‘weird’ question, if you could only eat one specific food for the rest of your life (i.e. french fries, popsicles, etc.) what would it be?

My favorite subject in school was anything language. I think my least favorite subject was maths… but that was more because our teacher wasn’t very good at explaining things to us…
Yes, I speak three languages fluently: Norwegian, English and French, and I can more or less get by in Spanish.
I’m quite happy here in Geneva, Switzerland, but if I’d have to change, I’d live on the north shore of Oahu 😀
My current phone wallpaper is a picture of my husband and kids, from five years ago when we were on vacation in Miami.
Sushi!!! Because that’s quite varied, and I don’t think I’d ever get sick of it 🙂

    Love your questions <3

    • Ashley says:

I’m so so sorry for replying so late, I haven’t been around much this past week!! But I’m super excited that you answered my questions. 🙂

I agree with you on maths, I was always terrible at it as well. Having a bad teacher can really ruin a subject for students. 🙁
That’s amazing, three languages is so impressive. And Norwegian sounds really interesting, I’d love to visit Norway someday soon. I’m not too far away over in the UK!
Geneva.. wow! One of the cities on my bucket list to visit. I’m going to have to agree with you on Oahu, how can a place be so beautiful?
That’s such a lovely photo to have for your wallpaper! It must have been a fun trip. 🙂
Sushi! Agreed! I couldn’t think of anything I would eat forever but I think that’s definitely what I would choose. There’s an all you can eat sushi place in my hometown that my sister and I go to and we almost die from ordering too much food every time we go. So. Good!

Thanks so much for answering, I loved hearing your answers!! <3

  4. Fanna says:

I’m not a huge seafood fan, but that squid does look really yum! Will have to travel to Rome, soon for this 😀 Glad 2018 is coming about in such an amazing way, Ashley! Thanks for the nomination, btw <3

    • Ashley says:

I could almost promise you that you’d love the squid. It’s the most unique and wonderful flavour and I’m determined to convince other people to try it! It looks a bit creepy but it’s sooo good. Thanks for the comment, have a lovely day!! 🙂

  5. Kristina says:
