New Finds Friday, Week 5

This week I’m celebrating one month of New Finds Friday! I’m really glad I started doing this in February as I’m now feeling way more organised with my Goodreads to-read shelf. I’m taking more care in deciding what to add and what types of books I really want to be reading. It’s also handy to be able to look back at my posts and see what books I was really excited about. So overall I’m super happy I committed to reflecting on my weekly book finds every Friday.

I have a new batch this week that I’m excited to start reading soon. My current stack is growing quite high and I should probably stop buying books on Amazon every 5 minutes, but there’s always room for more! Let me know if you’ve read any of my new finds in the comments!

As a reminder, if you want to join in on my weekly New Finds Friday posts, here are the very simple rules!

RULES

  1. Choose any books you’ve added to your Goodreads ‘to-read’ shelf from this week.
  2. Mention why you added it, where you heard about it, and when you think you’ll read it.
  3. Tag ‘New Finds Friday’ creator Ashley in Wonderland. I want to read your post!
  4. Share the Rules in your post so others can participate.
  5. Repeat on Fridays!

New Finds Friday, Week 4

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week. I’ve really been looking forward to having a lazy couple of days after what felt like a century long workweek. The UK is apparently due for snow and ice again tomorrow and Sunday (snore) so it probably won’t be a great weekend for doing anything outdoorsy, which is a bit disapointing. But no worries, spring should be just around the corner!

I haven’t added too many books onto my ‘to-read’ shelf on Goodreads this week, but I’m still excited about these new additions. Let me know if you’ve read any of them in the comments!

As a reminder, if you want to join in on my weekly New Finds Friday posts, here are the very simple rules!

New Finds Friday, Week 3

Oh boy, I’m a bit behind getting this written and posted this week. I’ve been reading so much lately that I haven’t had as much time to blog… about reading. Just an average day in the life of a book blogger! I don’t think I’ll ever figure out how to find a comfortable balance between the two. I’m currently reading Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff which is a ton of fun. I’m looking forward to talking about it in my upcoming review.

So I’ve had a great week of new books on Goodreads that I’m excited to talk about and to hopefully get reading soon! If you want to join in with New Finds Friday, I’d love to have you! Here is a reminder of how it works:

RULES

  1. Choose any books you’ve added to your Goodreads ‘to-read’ shelf from this week.
  2. Mention why you added it, where you heard about it, and when you think you’ll read it.
  3. Tag ‘New Finds Friday’ creator Ashley in Wonderland.
  4. Share the Rules in your post so others can participate.
  5. Repeat on Fridays!

Here are my finds for week 3 of New Finds Friday!

New Finds Friday, Week 2

Week two of my new weekly bookblogger meme! I’m feeling super organised with my Goodreads ‘to-read’ shelf at the moment and feel as though I’m really thinking about the books I’m adding instead of adding things at random that I’ll only end up forgetting about later. This has also forced me to start reading about a book before I commit to putting it on my Goodreads shelf. It’s more fulfilling and has helped me feel super pumped about my upcoming reads. I encourage you all to join me by talking about your New Finds on your blogs each Friday!

Here is a reminder of the ‘rules’ if you are interested in joining:

RULES

Here are my three new Goodreads additions from this week!

New Finds Friday, Week 1

I wanted to begin by welcoming the influx of new followers I’ve had within the last week. There are actually 60 of you now; I never thought I would ever get this many. Thanks so much for following along with my reading adventures! I’m thrilled to have you all here and I would love to hear from you! Please feel free to comment on any of my posts and I’ll always comment back within a couple days.

To celebrate, I thought about trying something new for this Friday. I’ve seen so many fun book memes, and there a few that I participate in, so I thought I would take a stab at making one of my own. So I’ve created New Finds Friday! This meme is to help everyone who loves adding books on their Goodreads ‘to-read’ shelf to reflect on their new book discoveries at the end of each week and to share any cool books they have stumbled upon with their followers. A sort of reverse Down the TBR Hole. I thought I would talk about where I heard about the books and why they interest me as well as an estimate of when I think I’ll actually get around to reading them and if it’s an immediate need or if it’s just something I hope to read one day.

So if anyone is interested in joining than I encourage you to do so! I’ve outlined some ‘rules’ below:

RULES

So without further ado, here is my very first shot at New Finds Friday!
