Taking a short break!

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. My mom is coming from Canada to stay with my boyfriend and I (for my birthday on Friday!) so I won’t be posting at all for the next week. This will likely include my social media unless I snap a cute bookish photo while we’re out that I want to post on my new #bookstagram!

Expect me back the week of the 7th of May 🙂

Wishing you all the best!

top 5 wednesday: favourite fandom items

I have a small problem and I think this is the safest space for me to confess.

I absolutely love knickknacks.

It’s difficult because contrary to this I hate being surrounded by clutter. But if I see a cute bookish item (or a unique looking plant) … I need it. Life is hard. Over the years I’ve collected quite a few pieces of fandom memorabilia. But luckily, for the sake of the limited space in my flat, a lot of it didn’t make the move with me from Canada to the UK. Regardless, there’s something a bit magical about owning a physical piece of something that only previously existed in your imagination. So it’s difficult to contain myself when I see an item from one of my favourite books for sale. I’m sure many of you can relate!

For this week’s Top 5 Wednesday, I’ll be talking a bit about my top 5 favourite fandom items. For my fellow knickknack enthusiasts, Id love to hear about your own favourite fandom memorabilia in the comments!

So without further ado, here are my Top 5 Favourite Fandom Items!

This post is a part of the Top 5 Wednesday series from the Goodreads group of the same name. Check it out for weekly #T5W post prompts and to see how other book bloggers have answered this week’s theme!

Book Blogger Insider Tag

Lazy Sundays are the perfect day to fill in fun book blogger tags. 🙂

It’s absolutely gorgeous out today in my little town on the outskirts of London with blue skies, sunshine, and a soft cool breeze. We’ve had nearly a week of summertime weather and I’m trying to ignore that it likely won’t last much longer. So to anyone else in the UK, take advantage of the beautiful weather while it lasts! Who knows when we’ll get it back again.

If you follow me on Twitter you probably know that I finished reading the first Wheel of Time book, The Eye of the World, by Robert Jordan at 3AM last night and I haven’t been able to shut about it since I began. For anyone on the fence about reading these books like I was: just do it! I wish I’d started sooner but I’m so excited to have a super long epic fantasy series ahead of me now. My review for The Eye of the World will be coming soon!

I’d like to thank the wonderful Inkblottings for tagging me in the Book Blogger Insider Tag! Please be sure to check out their book blog and give them a follow!

Hedgehog’s like to read too!

Looking for the cutest little furry friend to follow on Instagram?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll understand my obsession with cute little animals. When I was growing up my family saw our fair share of beloved small pets come and go and I’m now the happiest owner of the most loveable house rabbit. Recently, my best friend in Canada adopted a precious little hedgehog named Pig and has recently started an Instagram account full of super cute photos of her new furry friend (see Pig reading some of his favourite books below!). If you want to see more of Pig in silly situations I recommend you give her a follow here at @pigtheh0g !!
